Board of Directors

Emmanuel Christian School operates with a Volunteer Board of Directors, with members elected for 3-year terms. The group of 9 volunteers, many of whom are parents of students currently in the school, meet at least monthly to oversee the operations and pedagogy of the school. As the key representatives of parents, it is the board’s responsibility to ensure that the school is well-managed and meets the Ministry of Education’s requirements for private schools.

The board also oversees the strategic plan and vision for the school and works closely with the school’s management team to create and approve annual budgets and ensure the school’s financial sustainability. The Board of Directors delegates the day-to-day operation of the school to the Principal and his or her team of professionals and remains available for support and consultation as well as overall governance. Elections for board members occur every year at the Spring meeting of the Corporation, and we are always on the lookout for talented volunteers to serve on the Board.
